Hiss Messaging Project: Because there's no "memory leak" in Instant Messaging
Hiss is an open source "Jabber":http://www.jabber.org client for Linux written in "Python":http://www.python.org. Given the portability of Python, it is expected to run on other platforms as well.

- (2003.9.13) Things got too busy at home with preparations to go back to school, job changes, and various other things. As I'm (dm) now back at school, this project will probably not be able to move along very quickly for the time being. Look for updates in December!
- (2003.7.25) We get ready to release Hiss-the-Client. Hopefully, this will be done within a week or two.
- (2003.7.22) ClientComparisons created.
- (2003.7.1) Drew and I take a break to work on lighting software for an upcoming show. We'll return on 7.14.
- (2003.6.25) Despite the lack of news items, Hiss is under active development. We are working towards a more easily testable release for 'Hiss-the-Client' (which is built on 'Hiss-the-framework').
- (2003.5.24) Early Screenshots are available.
- (2003.5.13) Developers start using hiss as their chat client.
- (2003.3.27) We finally got pissed off enough with our respective clients (Gaim and EB) we started some groundwork on this. See CVSInstructions.
- (2003.2.15) Still in planning. A CVS repository may be started soon.
