Here are some of the ideas we have for plugins. Remember that many things in hiss are plugins that would be built into other clients.
o Name/Time Abbreviator - described on MinimalScreenspace
o Logging plugins - there will be a main logging plugin, but it should be easy to write a different one if you want your logs in one format. hiss should be able to understand (and convert) logs from gaim, Everybuddy, and gabber.
o Buddy pounces
o Spell checking (maybe -- probably will be built in)
o Screenshot sharing
o File transfer (possibly done by starting a tiny webserver which serves one file)
o Alternative input methods (I wouldn't mind using vi to compose messages sometimes)
o Integration with other programs
o <strike>Music control (maybe)</strike>
- Drew points out that these are pretty pointless. dmcc was not able to come up with any reason why these would be useful.
o Terminal sharing
o Web browser sharing (maybe). Loosely related: "LLuna?":http://www.bluehands.de/software/jabbervp/
- o Integration with "Chandler":http://www.osafoundation.org/our_product_desc.htm might be nice,
- especially since it's already in Python.
